M I G U E L

Magnificent is this man.

Inspires in every way anyone can.

Giving comes naturally.

Uplifting when his face you see.

Energy seems never ending.

Love so easily he’s giving.

Put these together and Miguel appears.

A special person we’ve known and

worked with for 15 years.

He can also show a mischievous side.

Even when he tries to make it hide.

Whether at work or at play any day,

He gives over 100% in every way

To know him our lives are better by far.

To us he is a special star.

N U R S E S – 6/3/18

N U R S E S

Nice should be their middle name.

Understanding patients pain.

Reaching out to give patients care.

Sharing their medical knowledge when they are there.

Easing the patients time away from home.

Showing them they are not alone.

When patients are hospitalized they have fear.

The nurses pay attention to the fear they hear.

They give their patients the utmost care.

Helping their patients recuperate while there.

With pain and fear it’s hard to relax.

The nurse processes all of these facts.

She knows these are all hard to ignore.

Therefore, for these patients she opens a new door.

She does what she can to fill the immediate needs.

Then she begins to sow different seeds.

She tells them about new therapies to start.

And gives them hope a better life to start.

When Your Chair Runs Out Of Charge

WHEN  YOUR  CHAIR  RUNS  OUT  OF  CHARGE

When your chair runs out of charge again and again,

You get disgusted and may be upset.

It puts you and those around in a bind,

And with legs and feet hanging, you move step by step.

As  your legs and feet get really tired,

You hope someone will give you a push.

Then a kind person steps up to do it.

You sort of get a happy little rush.

In your heart you feel so much gratitude,

The person you thank and tell them that you appreciate them.

Then you repeat it again and again.

You want to make sure they heard what you were saying.

Next you wish that you had money,

So new batteries you could buy.

Needless to say you’d be grateful,

If someone would give you second hand ones you could try.

In the meantime you just pray a lot,

That things will change and get better.

And if they do just that,

You and your friends praise God together.

Being Admitted To The Hospital

BEING  ADMITTED  TO  THE  HOSPITAL

Being admitted to the hospital,

Can be scary or bring a relief.

You can let it keep you awake at night,

Or you can have peaceful sleep.

Just pray they find out what’s going on,

That they find it out right quick.

Then you can get back to your normal life,

As the problem you try to lick.

Granted some things are worse than others,

Because they are typically chronic instead of acute.

So you have to make up your mind,

To pull yourself up by your boots.

Keep your appointments with your doctor,

If you want to get well.

Your doctor will appreciate it,

And your sincerity he can tell.

With your doctor on your side,

You’re well on your way,

To getting yourself well,

And having a brighter day.

You’ve Been Given A Gift February 21, 2008

YOU’VE  BEEN  GIVEN  A  GIFT

You’ve been given a gift,

A talent from above.

To help low spirits to lift,

And share some special love.

Others may envy you,

For this gift you have.

They may wish they had it too,

A better life to live.

There is no better gift,

Than to share joy and love.

And others’ hearts to lift,

With help from God above.

So be careful with your gift.

Use it very wisely.

And watch the hearts you lift,

As the people become so happy.

Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself February 21, 2008

DON’T  BE  SO  HARD  ON  YOURSELF

Don’t be so hard on yourself.

You might lose sight of your goal.

For when you’re hard on yourself,

Sadness is hard to control.

Being hard on yourself takes a lot of energy.

It’s also a big waste of time.

For when you expend all of this energy,

You just get further behind.

Being too hard on yourself also upsets friends.

They don’y want you around them much.

Because of the mood you’re in,

Their well being you also touch.

So don’t be so hard on yourself.

Turn the mood around.

Find something to be proud of in yourself,

And erase all touches of a frown

Be Positive February 21, 2008

BE  POSITIVE

You have to stay positive

to succeed in this life.

You have to stay positive

for things to turn out right.

You have to stay positive

happiness will prevail.

You have to stay positive

then no sadness can assail.

You have to stay positive

to help cheer up a grumpy mood.

You have to stay positive

for cheeriness helps you feel good.

You have to stay positive

and others will follow your lead.

You have to stay positive

to really truly succeed.

The Candle Light

THE CANDLE LIGHT

I did something special for me tonight

I lit a small candle and watched it’s flickering light

I watched as the flame seemed to be dancing

As things in the dark it’s light was enhancing

Then I watched the shadows upon the wall

At first they were big, then they were small

While things in my mind I began to ponder

How this small light could bring so much wonder

When did fire first come to be?

How can watching candle light be so relaxing to me?

How can a small candle light make such a big glow?

But a little flashlight shines so low?

Fire can be so helpful to man,

But one wild spark can ruin the land.

Then my thoughts were no longer so deep,

For I was so relaxed, I was falling asleep.

Winners Never Quit and Quitters Never Win November 11, 1989

WINNERS NEVER QUIT AND QUITTERS NEVER WIN

Winners never quit and quitters never win

For if you’re a quitter then you’ve stopped trying and given in

A fighter never won a fight with delivering a powerful blow

A runner never won a race by running very slow

This is how it goes in everyone’s life

Even in the middle of turmoil and strife

“When the going gets tough, the tough get going.”

Is a phrase that helps people do a lot of growing

They say “The best things in life are free.”

And that “No one ever said the way would be easy.”

There are so many different walks in life

Here too you have to decide what for you will be right

If by chance the first one you choose doesn’t work

Don’t be a quitter but a winner and for another one look

For you can’t give up if you want to win

Because winners never quit and quitters never win

ONE WHO IS GOING TO BE A WINNER

At The Copy Store

AT THE COPY STORE

I went to the copy store to have the poem sized for the bulletin

The clerk, Becky, waited on me to get the job done

After the poem was small enough to fit

I also gave her the church program to be copied on the inside of it

Once the coping was done; the poem, the program, and the bulletin were all in one

I brought all of it home

Then I got out my laminating machine

And laminated the bulletin to keep it clean

I just couldn’t believe, how with the service the poem fit in

That’s why I had it copied, so the bulletin, I could put it in

When the responsive reading was read

And I knew what was in the poem, things started spinning in my head

I was so excited about what happened earlier in church

I had to tell someone, so I told the copy store clerk

When I told Becky, she understood how I felt too

She said she understood why I was doing what I had to do

Getting The Bulletin Done,
